Two years later we decided to head back to the Reef. This year everyone came from Colorado, there was no hoping to meet up at the right spot! We all left and drove through a massive windstorm. We reached camp at 9 o'clock and set up while getting pelted with sand! By 10:30 we had made a fire and enjoyed dinner and laughter until the wee hours of the morning. The sun woke us up early in the morning. We enjoyed an early breakfast before heading out to hike our first hike. We had to venture to the other end of the park to begin our hike. Sulfur Creek Arriving at the wash was one of the most beautiful sights. The walls of the mountains was unbelievable. We headed in the opposite direction down into the canyon walls. We walked down the sandy river bottom for about 1.5 miles before finally coming to the shallow river. Once inside the canyon walls it was nice and cool, and very refreshing to walk in the water. About 2.5 miles into the hike we reached the first waterfall. It took some climbing and bouldering to get down! Not far down the narrow walls was the next waterfall. Again another steep decent. On this busy spring weekend we were nearly the only people walking through the river. It was a peaceful stroll with great friends. Our final waterfall required us to traverse the waterfall, it was a lot more scary crossing the water then the picture looks! There was a nice deep pool below to land in if one was to slip.
